We work with our clients to achieve their tree goals. Pruning objectives typically focus on maintaining tree structure, shape, health, and safety. We utilize the "natural pruning system," which retains and promotes the characteristic form of the tree.

  • What does natural pruning system mean?

A natural pruning system uses reduction and removal cuts to retain and promote the characteristic form of a tree species, enabling it to co-exist with people, avoid conflict with infrastructure, encourage strong architecture, allow desirable views, and provide clearance.

  • What is a Certified Arborist?

An Internattional Society of Arboriculture “ISA” arborist certification is a nongovernmental, voluntary process by which individuals can document their base of knowledge. Certification provides a measurable assessment of an individual’s knowledge in the competencies needed for proper tree care.

When a professional becomes an ISA Certified Arborist®, they should be recognized by their peers and the public as a tree care professional who has attained a generally-accepted level of knowledge in areas such as tree biology, diagnosis, maintenance practices, safety, and other subject and practice areas within the tree care profession as identified through periodic job task analyses.

They must also continue their education to maintain their certification. Therefore, they are more likely to be up to date on the latest techniques in arboriculture.

  • How do I choose an arborist?

    • Check for an ISA arborist credential. ISA Certified Arborists are experienced professionals who have passed comprehensive exams covering all aspects of tree care.

    • Check for membership in professional organizations such as the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) & the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA)

    • Ask for proof of insurance, a reputible company will provide their certificate of insurance promptly.

    • Check for local permits and licenses. In certain boro and townships, residents are required to obtain a permit to do work on their street and sidewalk trees.

    • Ask your neighbors and coworkers for references & check online reviews.

    • Don’t always accept the lowest bid. Examine the credentials and the written specifications of the firms that submitted the bids and determine the best combination of price, work to be done, skills and professionalism.

    • Be wary of people who go door to door and offer bargains.

    • ISA certification holders must follow a Code of Ethics and use industry-accepted practices and standards.

    • Get it in writing. Most reputable arborists have their clients sign a contract. Read it carefully and ask questions.
